Man gets life term in Khulna drug case

A local court today sentenced a man to life imprisonment in a drug case. At the same time, he was fined Tk 20,000, in default, he will have to serve another three more months imprisonment.
Khulna Additional District and Sessions Judge Third Court Judge Tasneem Johra passed the verdict on Tuesday.
The convict is identified as Abdur Rahman, son of Lutfar Sheikh of Char Rupsha Bagmara area of Rupsha upazila of the district.
According to court sources, RAB arrested Abdur Rahman on January 11, 2013, while he was walking in front of Abdul Ghani's shop in Jabusa intersection of Rupsha upazila. At that time, 32 bottles of Phencidil, a bottle of whiskey, and a bottle of Indian liquor were found to him. In that incident, RAB filed a case against Abdur Rahman at Rupsha police station. On February 5 of the same year, SI MA Karim filed a charge sheet against him in court. In that case, the court sentenced Abdur Rahman to life imprisonment and fine.
