Elderly woman killed in road crash while picking mangoes

An elderly woman named Hamida Begum was killed in a road accident while picking mangoes at Kashiani Upazila in Gopalganj.
The incident took place on Sunday morning near Ratoil Horticulture on the Dhaka-Khulna highway.
The deceased was identified as Hamida Begum, wife of late Israfil Mollah of Paschim Ratoil village in Kashiani upazila.
Abu Naeem Mohammad Mofazzal Haque, in-charge of Kashiani's Bhatiapara Highway police outpost, said an unidentified speeding vehicle hit Hamida Begum while he was crossing the Dhaka-Khulna highway to pick mangoes, leaving her dead on the spot.
On information, police have been sent to the spot after receiving the news.
