3 including child dead as bus hits tree

At least three people, including a child, were killed and 30 others injured when a Dhaka-bound bus from Panchagarh collided with a roadside tree in Dinajpur. 

The accident took place in the Bankali area of ​​Dinajpur Sadar Upazila around 8:00 pm on Monday. 

One of the deceased was identified as Abdur Rahim, 40, a resident of Pradhanpara village under Hafizabad union of Sadar upazila of Panchagarh district. Besides, a 2-year-old child named Laisa died while undergoing treatment at the hospital. The name of the other one could not be immediately known. 

Dinajpur Kotwali Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Asaduzzaman confirmed the matter.

According to police sources and witness, the Dhaka-bound bus of Ahsan Paribahan from Panchagarh collided with a tree and got stuck in the railing of a bridge as its driver lost control over the steering. 

Being informed by locals,  two units of fire service from Dinajpur and Syedpur rushed to the spot and rescued the victims and them to M Abdur Rahim Medical College Hospital.

The hospital's ward master Masud Alam said the two had died before being brought to the hospital. Then one child died while undergoing treatment there.
