Explosion at Ctg depot: 7-member probe body formed

A seven-member probe committee has been formed to investigate the massive fire and explosion at BM container depot in Sitakunda's Sonaichhari union of Chattogram on Saturday night.
Bangladesh Fire Service and Civil Defence formed the probe body on Sunday morning.
The committee has been headed by the Director of Fire Service and Civil Defence (Training, Planning and Development) Lt Col Md Rezaul Karim, PSC, and Deputy Secretary Chattogram Division Md Anisur Rahman has been made Member Secretary.
Shahjahan Sikder, Officer-in-Charge of Media Branch of Fire Service and Civil Defense, confirmed the information on Sunday afternoon.
Meanwhile, the death toll from the devastating fire that caused explosions at BM Container Depot in Shitolpur area at Sitakunda Upazila of Chattogram has gone up to 43. Seven of the deceased were members of fire services. They were killed while trying to extinguish the flame.
More than 400 were injured in the incident. The injured people, of whom, many received burn injuries, are undergoing treatment in different hospitals in Chattogram.
