Saltha clash: Another person dies

Another person has died, who was injured in a clash between two rival groups over domination at Khardia village of Salthar upazila in Faridpur.

He died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital around 8:30 pm on Wednesday. The deceased was identified as Asad Sheikh, son of Hashem Sheikh of Khardia village of the upazila. 

Faridpur Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police (Nagarkanda-Saltha Circle) Suminur Rahman confirmed the information and said that the clash took place on May 5 in Khardia village of Jadunandi UP.

It is known that clashes took place between the supporters of Rafiq Molla and Md. Alamgir Mia over establishing domination. A man named Sirajul Islam, son of Isharat Mollah of Khardia Thakurpara area was killed in the clash. Asad Sheikh was being treated at the BSMMC Hospital in Faridpur.

Saltha Police Station OC Sheikh Mohammad Sadiq said police had arrested Bablu Fakir, one of the accused in the Sirajul murder case. Detained Bablu Fakir is accused in 18 cases. Additional police have been deployed in the area to avoid any untoward incident.
