2 dead while going to participate teacher recruitment test

Two people were killed and two others injured when a CNG-powered autorickshaw collided head-on with a pickup van while they were going to take part in a primary teacher recruitment examination in Chandpur Sadar Upazila. 

The accident took place at around 9:30 am on Friday (May 20) at Mia Bazar in Ghosher Hat area on ​​Chandpur-Comilla regional highway.

The deceased were identified as Fatema Alam, 24, and Abdullah, 25. The deceased were on their way from Hajiganj to Chandpur Al-Amin Academy examination center to participate in the primary assistant teacher recruitment test. Amena (25) and her father Yasin (65) were injured.

According to witnesses, three examinees were going to Chandpur from Hajiganj by an auto-rickshaw to take part in the preliminary recruitment test. When they reached Mia Bazar in the Ghosher Hat area on ​​Chandpur-Comilla regional highway, the auto-rickshaw collided head-on with a cement-brick-laden pickup van, leaving Fatema dead on the spot. 

Later, three critically injured people were taken to Chandpur Government Hospital, where another examinee named Abdullah died. The two injured returned home after first aid.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Chandpur Model Police Station Harunur Rashid confirmed the information and said that the bodies of the deceased were in the hospital morgue. Both the drivers of the autorickshaw and the pickup van managed to flee the scene.
