Bogies derail in Cumilla, train service snaps on three routes

Three bogies of a freight train derailed at Burichang upazila in Cumilla. As a result, train communications with Dhaka-Chattogram and Noakhali are halted.
The accident took place at Rajapur railway station area of the upazila around 4 am on Monday. Railway authorities have already started working to rescue these bogies.
Cumilla Railway Path Officer Md. Leyakat Ali said three bogies of a freight train coming from Chattogram were derailed when it reached the Rajapur railway station area around 4 am. Later, two rescue trains from Laksam and Akhaura railway junctions were sent to the spot. The rescue operation has already started. Hopefully, the rescue work will be completed within an hour.
Meanwhile, Dhaka-bound Upakul Express from Noakhali stopped at Laksam Railway Junction and the Turna Nishitha Express at Shashidal railway station.
