‘Voice of Jhenaigati’ distributes food items among helpless

A voluntary organization called ‘Voice of Jhenaigati’ has distributed food items on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr among hundreds of helpless and poor family members.
The members of the organization handed over the items in the area adjacent to the Jhenaigati police station on Sunday afternoon.
Food items and clothing were distributed with the financial support of Expatriate Bangladeshi Md. Zafar Iqbal. Eid items included polao rice, chicken, shemai, sugar, cake, oil, soap and other food items. These families are very happy to get these items this Eid.
Abu Hena Mostafa Kamal, Monitoring Officer of Ashrayan-2 Project, Prime Minister’s Office was the chief guest on the occasion.
Jhenaigati Sadar UP member and founder of the organization Md. Jahidul Haque Monir presided over the event.
Organizers Mosharraf Hossain, general secretary of the general committee of the organization, general secretary of the executive committee Md. Sohail Rana, organizational secretary Md. Ershad Ali, Publicity Secretary Samrat Ahmed Sajib, Education and Information Secretary Emon Hasan Rahad and others were present at the time.
After getting the food items, Maryam Begum, a widow from Nayagaon village in Jhenaigati upazila of Sherpur, said they are poor people. They never thought of eating polao-chicken on Eid day. “I can celebrate Eid well with these things,” she added.
