3 killed in Narayanganj road crash

A Narayanganj-bound maize-laden truck from Gazipur collided head-on with a Gazipur-bound tin-laden truck
Three workers have been killed in a horrific road accident in Narayanganj's Rupganj Upazila. Five more people were injured in the incident.
The accident took place at Zinda area of Bypass Road junction of the Upazila on Thursday morning.
The deceased were identified as Abdul Majid, 45, Md Ayed and Shahidul Islam, 50, of Shikta village in Kalai upazila of Joypurhat. They are all rice harvesters.
SI Fariduzzaman of Nawjor police station of the highway police confirmed the information.
He said that the workers were returning home in a truck loaded with tin at night after harvesting paddy in Cumilla. When the truck was passing the Zinda Park area in Narayanganj's Rupganj, it collided head-on collision with a corn-laden truck coming from the opposite direction.
Three people were killed and five others were injured after being hit by tin on the truck.
On information, police recovered the bodies from the spot and sent these to the morgue of Gazipur General Hospital. The injured have been admitted to the same hospital.
