Some 825 landless and homeless families will get new houses as gift from Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina under the third phase of the Ashrayan Project in Mymensingh.
Of the total, construction works of 553 houses were completed. The rest of the 272 houses will be handed over to the beneficiary families by December 2022.
"Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will launch distribution of the houses with land ownership documents and keys to the beneficiary families through a video conferencing from Ganabhaban on Tuesday," said Deputy Commissioner Md. Enamul Haque.
The Deputy Commissioner disclosed the information while addressing a press conference today.
Each of the semi pucca houses was built at a cost of Taka 1.50 lakh. All preparations have already been completed in this regard.
The DC also informed that a total of 1950 houses have already been distributed among the beneficiaries in two phases in the district. In the first phase a total of 1305 houses and in the 2nd phase a total of 645 houses were handed over to the homeless people in all 13 upazilas of the district.
