2 killed in road crush in Mymensingh

Two people were killed when a motorcycle collided with a private car while trying to rescue a pedestrian at Gauripur in Mymensingh.

The accident took place in Ramgopalpur area of ​​Mymensingh-Kishoreganj road on Friday evening.

One of the deceased is 60 years old Shams Uddin, son of Shahar Ali of Ramgopalpur village in Gauripur upazila.

According to locals, Shams Uddin was crossing the road in front of Rahmania Madrasa in Ramgopalpur area on Friday evening. At that time a motorcycle was going from Mymensingh to Kishoreganj.

Suddenly seeing a private car coming from the opposite direction, the motorcyclist tried to push Shams Uddin away to save him. The driver and pedestrian were seriously injured when the motorcycle collided with a private car.

Later, the people of the area rescued them and took them to the Upazila Health Complex. Both died on the way to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital due to deteriorating condition.

Gauripur Police Station OC (Investigation) Moniruzzaman Mazumdar said, the body of  Shams Uddin was handed over without an autopsy on the request of his family. However, the body of the pedestrian was taken away by the family so fast that it was not possible to identify him. Attempts are also being made to identify the private car.
