6 crushed dead by bus: Driver held

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-12) have arrested the driver of a bus that hit an autorickshaw and killed six people in Sherpur Upazila in Bogura.
Additional Superintendent of Police Md Mostafizur Rahman, Media Officer of RAB-12 Commander's Office (Hatikumrul, Sirajganj), confirmed the information on Tuesday morning.
The elite force members arrested him from Salanga Upazila in Sirajganj at on Monday morning.
The arrestee is Saiful Islam, 56, son of Jane Alam of Begunbari village in Dhaka's Savar.
On January 26, the Bogura-bound bus of Hanif Paribahan from Dhaka rammed an auto rickshaw at Mirzapur in Sherpur upazila, leaving five people including the auto rickshaw driver dead on the spot. Later, another died while undergoing treatment at Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College hospital.
Later on that night, the auto-rickshaw driver's son named Md Selim filed a case against the bus driver with Sherpur police station. Besides, the victim's family lodged a written complaint with RAB-12.
