The Armed Police Battalion (APBN) have detained five Rohingyas with home-made weapons from a Rohingya camp in Ukhia, Cox's Bazar. APBN members said they were preparing for the robbery.

They were detained from Balukhali Rohingya camp in Palangkhali union of the upazila around 2pm on Thursday.

The detainees are Jamal Hossain, son of Abdul Amin of Balukhali Camp No. 17, Omar, son of Mohammad Ali, Fayez Ahmed, son of Abdul Rashid, Kamal Naser, son of Abdul Hashim and Kamal, son of Abdul Amin.

Additional Superintendent of Police Kamran Hossain of Cox's Bazar Armed Police Battalion-8 confirmed the matter. He said the bandits were preparing to rob the camp at night. On the basis of such news, 5 people were arrested. Domestic weapons have been recovered from them. The detainees have been handed over to Ukhia police station.

Earlier, the Armed Police Battalion (APBN) arrested Abdul Malek, one of the accused in a case of six murders at a Rohingya camp in Ukhia district. This information was confirmed on January 25 by Additional Superintendent of Police Kamran Hossain of APBN. Earlier, on the night of January 18, he was arrested in a raid on a Rohingya camp.
