Law enforcers have recovered a 100-kg statue of touchstone from the roof of a retired policeman’s house in Naogaon. Two members of the smuggling ring were detained at the time.

District DB police and NSI members recovered the statue, worth Tk 50 crore, from the roof of the house of retired policeman Abdus Salam of Komaigari area of ​​Sadar upazila around 12:30 am on Tuesday.  

The detainees are – Md. Mominul Islam Milon, 38, and Mirajul Islam, 28. Both are the sons of retired policeman Md. Abdus Salam of Komaigari area of Sadar upazila.

District DB Police OC KM Samsuddin said the DB police and NSI recovered a touchstone worth Tk 50 crore from Abdus Salam’s house in a joint operation in a tip-off. Two members of the smuggling ring were arrested at the time. A case will be filed against them with Naogaon Sadar Model Police Station.
