5 die in MMCH COVID-19 unit

Five more people have died while undergoing treatment at the COVID-19 unit in Mymensingh Medical College Hospital (MMCH) in the last 24 hours till Wednesday morning. All the deceased had coronavirus symptoms. 

Dr Mohiuddin Khan Moon, the focal person of the hospital's Covid unit, has confirmed the information this morning (January 26, 2022). Two each of the deceased were from Mymensingh and Tangail while one was from the Kishoreganj district. 

He said a total of 77 patients are now undergoing treatment at the Corona unit. Eight of them are in the ICU. Some 21 people have been admitted in the last 24 hours while 10 others returned home after recovery. 

Meanwhile, Mymensingh District Civil Surgeon Dr Mohammad Nazrul Islam said, "In the last 24 hours, 200 COVID patients have been diagnosed after testing 716 samples in the Mymensingh district."
