Two people were killed and five others injured in a truck-Mahindra clash at Ranihati College junction in Shibganj upazila of Chapainawabganj.
The accident took place around 11 am on Sunday.
The deceased were identified as Mahindra driver Hanif, 30, of Daipukuria area of Shibganj upazila and Joydev Shah, 32, son of Babul Shah of Bishwanathpur area of Kansat in the same upazila.
The injured were identified as Chandra Rani Saha, wife of Babul Kumar Saha of Bishwanathpur village in Kansat union of Shibganj upazila, Nur Amin, son of Monirul Islam of Police Lais village in Kansat union, Imam Hossain son of Alauddin of Mobarakpur village in Mubarak union and Nazir Rahman son of Saleman Ali of Kalni village and Amirul Islam. son of Mozlu Rahman of Kansat union.
Anwar Rafique, emergency in-charge of Chapainawabganj Sadar Hospital, said two people were brought dead and three others in critical condition. The condition of one of the three injured is critical. He is undergoing treatment here.
Chapainawabganj Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mozaffar Hossain said a truck and a Mahindra collided head-on at Ranihati College junction leaving two dead and three critically injured. They have been admitted to District Sadar Hospital. At the end of the legal process, the bodies of the two will be handed over to the family.
