Uncle, nephew dead in road crash while going to school

A young man and his nephew were crushed to death by a truck while going to school at Hatibandha Upazila in Lalmonirhat. The child's father was injured in the incident.
The accident took place on Lalmonirhat-Burimari highway in front of RDRS office of the Upazila on Wednesday morning.
The deceased were identified as Imran Ali, 21, son of Abbas Ali and Abdullah bin Naeem, 6, son of Faruk Hossain. The child was a student of nursery of Hatibandha Cambrian School.
According to locals, Naeem along with his father Faruq and uncle Imran was going to school on a motorcycle in the morning. A fast-moving truck run over them when they fell on the Lalmonirhat-Burimari highway in front of the RDRS office. Naeem was killed on the spot and Faruq and uncle Imran were injured.
Later, the locals rescued the injured and took them to the Upazila Health Complex. Later, Imran was sent to Rangpur Medical College Hospital in critical condition, where he died at noon while undergoing treatment.
Hatibandha Highway Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdul Hakim said the driver and helper of the truck have been detained in the incident.
