Hundreds of people are flocking to see the long-tailed, striped and square-faced animal. The locals have appealed to the appropriate authorities to save the life of the rare species. Meanwhile, the district administration has informed the divisional forest officer about the matter.

However, the name of the animal has been found on the internet 'Gandhogokul'. According to Wikipedia, gandhogokuls are currently considered vulnerable animals. The number of old trees and forests is decreasing day by day.

According to the International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources (IUCN), this animal has been included in the list of endangered species of the world. Different species of Gandhagokuls live in different places including Africa, Southeast Asia.

This species is protected in accordance with Schedule 1 of the Wildlife (Conservation and Security) Act, 2012 of Bangladesh. Although mainly fruit-eaters, it also eats insects, snails, eggs, chicks, birds, small animals, palm-date juice. If lacking other food, it steals chickens, pigeons and fruits. They benefit the farmer by eating rats and harmful insects of fruits and crops.

This gray coloured animal gandhogokul has an extraordinary ability to recognize other animals by smelling them in the dark.

It is learned that last Friday evening, a few local youths saw a strange animal eating a chicken. At this time, to protect the chicken, they attacked and captured the animal. They later demanded the animal to be identified and taken to a safe place through contact with various people.

For the last two days, the local youths have been trying to feed the strange animal.
