Woman dies of COVID in RMCH

An woman has died in the last 24 hours in the COVID unit of Rajshahi Medical College (RMC) Hospital who had been COVID positive previously but tested negative later. However, no one died in COVID at that time.

She died between 9 am on Saturday to 9 am on Sunday, confirmed Brigadier General Shamim Yazdani, director of RMC Hospital.

He said no patient had died at RMC Hospital in 24 hours with COVID infection or symptoms of infection. However, one patient died even after testing COVID negative who was previously tested positive. She is between 21 and 30 years old and was admitted to the ICU of the hospital in critical condition. He died there while undergoing treatment.

Meanwhile, 31 patients were admitted to the 104-bed RMC COVID unit till 9 am on Sunday. Even a day ago this number was 31 people. At present 15 patients from Rajshahi, 5 from Chapainawabganj, 3 from Naogaon, 3 from Natore, 2 from Pabna and 2 from Kushtia are hospitalized.

There are 5 people admitted to the hospital with COVID. There are 5 people admitted with COVID symptoms. COVID was not detected in 17 people. Besides, 6 people have been admitted in 24 hours. On this day, 4 patients left the hospital after recovering.

Last Saturday, samples of 63 people were tested at RMC Hospital Lab. COVID was detected in the sample of 6 of them. On the same day, in the Rajshahi Medical College (RMC) lab, samples of 161 people were tested and 6 people were caught COVID positive.
