The bodies of four people including mother and daughter have been found floating in the Dhaleshwari river at Fatulla in Narayanganj on Sunday, five days after they went missing in a trawler capsize in the river. Six people were still missing in the incident.

Naval police recovered the bodies from the Dharmaganj area of the river on this morning, said Abdullah Al Arefin, deputy director of the fire service.

Locals informed police after spotting the four bodies floating a short distance from the place where the trawler sank, he said, adding that attempts are being made to identify the bodies.

At around 08:30 am on January 5, 10 people went missing after a trawler sank in the Dhaleshwari river in Fatullah. The trawler carrying at least 30 passengers sank in the river after being hit by a launch named MV Farhan-6. Most of the passengers were able to swim to shore, but the 10 were not found.
