Ctg reports zero COVID, detection 5 percent

Chattagram has been COVID deathless in last 24 hours. The COVID detection rate was recorded 5 percent.

In the last 24 hours, 76 people have been identified COVID positive in Chattagram. However, no one died at the time. Civil Surgeon Mohammad Elias Chowdhury confirmed the information on Saturday morning.

He said that in the last 24 hours, samples of 1,530 people have been tested at Chattagram University, BITID, Chattagram Medical College, Chattagram Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Chevron Lab,  Chattagram Maternal and Child Hospital, Epic Health Care,  Chattagram Metropolitan Hospital and Asian Specialized Hospital. COVID virus was found in the bodies of 76 of them.

According to the test, the detection rate is 4.96 percent. Which was 4.41 percent in the previous 24 hours. Among the victims are 71 from the city, one from Boalkhali, one from Raozan, one from Fotikchari, one from Hathazari and one is from Sandwip.

Earlier, the Civil Surgeon's Office had identified 82 people on Friday, 53 on Thursday, 53 on Wednesday, 35 on Tuesday, 23 on Monday and 16 on Sunday. 

According to the Civil Surgeon's Office, 1,02,980 people have been infected with COVID in Chattagram district so far with 74,575 people in the city and 28,405 people at the upazila level. Besides, 1,333 people died. Among these, 723 are from the city and 610 from the upazila.

On April 3, 2020, the first COVID patient was identified in  Chattagram. Then on April 9, the first person died from the virus.
