One killed, 10 injured in clash between 2 groups in Pabna

A man named was killed and 10 others were injured in a clash between two groups at Char Safulla village in Bera upazila of Pabna on Friday. The clashes lasted from morning till noon on Friday (January 8).
The deceased is Md Tota Bepari (65), son of late Ahez Bepari of Chor Sofulla village in the upazila. The injured have been admitted to Bera Upazila Health Complex.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bera Model Police Station Arvind Sarkar said Md Akher Ali, son of Tota Bepari, went to Saudi Arabia 18 months back through one Md Shafikul Islam of the same village.
The police official said Tota's son Akher returned home after a few months from Saudi Arabia. Since then, Tota's family forced Shafiqul's family to refund the money. Akher had provided the money to Shafiqul as a processing fee to go to Saudi.
Following this, dispute between the two families had been going on for a long time. Following this, a bloody clash took place between the two families at around 10 am on Friday. Eleven people, including Tota Mia, were injured in the two-hour clash. The injured were rushed to Bera Upazila Health Complex where on-duty doctor declared Tota Mia dead.
Upon receiving the news, Bera police brought rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control and recovered the body of the deceased and sent it to Pabna General Hospital morgue for autopsy.
The OC further said that a case is being prepared. Police have launched an operation to arrest those involved in the killings.
