Private car suddenly caught fire
A moving private car caught fire on the Mohakhali flyover in the capital. No one was injured in the incident.
The incident took place around 9:30 pm on Thursday. However, the fire service brought the fire under control after trying for 20 minutes.
The matter has been confirmed by Ershad Hossain, the duty officer of the control room of the Fire Service and Civil Defense.
He said that due to mechanical disturbances, smoke suddenly started coming out of the car while moving. Then the car stopped and the passengers got off. As soon as the passengers got off, the whole car caught fire. No one was burnt in the incident.
Earlier, two units of the fire service rushed to the spot from Tejgaon area to control the fire. After 20 minutes, the fire service personnel brought the fire under control. The car was then removed.
Banani Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Noor Azam Mia confirmed the incident and said the cause of the fire was not yet known.
