Rohingyas detained with local weapon

APBN (Armed Police Battalion) have detained five Rohingyas with local weapons in Teknaf, Cox's Bazar.

The detainees were arrested from Jadimura camp around 2.30 pm on Wednesday (January 5).

The detainees are Kefayet Ullah (22), Mohammad Alam (25), Zahir Ahmed alias Zakir Ahmed (41), Samsu  (32) and Nur Mohammad (25).

According to APBN sources, the raid was carried out at Hnila Jadimura camp in the afternoon on the basis of secret information. They were detained while preparing for robbery. Detained Rohingya robbers are listed robbers at police headquarters. At this time four hoes of different sizes were seized from them.

Teknaf-16 Armed Police Battalion Commander SP Tariqul Islam Tariq said the arrested were handed over to Teknaf Model Police Station.

Earlier, members of the Armed Police Battalion (APBN) arrested a Rohingya terrorist named Master Yakub from the Shafiullah Kata camp in Ukhiya, Cox's Bazar. He was arrested on the basis of secret information on January 4 at noon.

Additional Superintendent of Police (Media) of the Armed Police Battalion (APBN) Kamran Hossain said Confirming the information the arrested master Yakub is the son of Rohingya Hamidul Haque and Momena Khatun, a Rohingya sheltered in Block-B-6, Holding No. 553 of Shafiullah Kata Camp No. 16 in Palangkhali UP. His FCN number is 233044. It was known that there are several cases against him for various crimes. He said another case had been filed against him after his arrest.
