RAB (Rapid Action Battalion) has identified two accused through CCTV footage on the charge of gang-raping housewife in Cox's Bazar.

The identified are Ashiqul Islam and Abdul Jabbar Jaya of Baharchhara area of ​​Cox's Bazar city. The identity of another has not been known yet.

RAB said, Ashiq was released from jail four months ago. He is accused of multiple cases including robbery and drugs.

An official of Cox's Bazar Sadar Model Police Station said that last year a group led by Ashik stabbed a young man and snatched everything. He was in jail in this case. He was seen with political leaders after his release from jail four months ago. Ashik works in the area dealing in drugs and sex workers. Jaya is one of his collaborators.

According to the victim, she came from Dhaka to visit Cox's Bazar with her husband and children on Wednesday morning. They stayed at a hotel on Holiday intersection in the city. They went to Laboni Point on the beach in the afternoon. Her husband collided with a stranger at Laboni Point and altercated.

Due to this, some people picked up her eight months old child and her husband in a CNG-powered autorickshaw from the front of the tourist golf course in the evening. At that time, three young men picked her up in another autorickshaw. Three men gang-raped her two times.

The woman managed to called 999 when they left him stuck in a room. Then she called RAB as the police advised her to make a GD. RAB came and rescued her husband and child from the area of ​​the tourist golf course.

Cox's Bazar RAB-15 CPC Commander Major Mehedi Hasan said the victim was rescued from Zia Guest Inn in Cox's Bazar Hotel-Motel Zone around 1.30pm on Wednesday.

The victim's husband said that although he was taken to different places in the city to detect the miscreants, as a stranger, he could not recognize them or the place. Now the wife's condition is not good.

Major Mehedi Hasan said, "We rescued the husband, children and housewife after receiving the news." We have started the investigation. So far we have identified two of the three. An operation is underway to catch them.

Cox's Bazar RAB-15's Lt. Colonel Khairul Islam Sarkar said those involved in the incident should be severely punished. The matter is under further investigation.
