A 10-year-old child has been missing his Monday afternoon when he fell in a drain while playing with friends near Sholoshohor in Chattogram. The missing boy was identified as Kamal, a student of Class-III and used to hawk paper in the rail station. 

Meanwhile, Md. Kawsar, the father of the missing child, is desperate to get his son back who went missing in a drain. Even if his child is not alive, Kawsar wants to grab his child’s body in his lap.

“We got the news at 6 pm on Monday. I didn’t know what to do at that time. Later, a relative informed me that he has a number of media and fire services. Then, I told him to call media and fire service to rescue my child,” Md. Kawsar said in a voice tormented by the pain of losing his child.

“I lost my wife. Kamal was the eldest among the four children and used to live together on the sidewalk of the railway station. Kamal studied till class-III, later he used to sell newspapers in the station. Now, I lost my diamond,” Kawsar added.

Panchlaish Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Jahidul Kabir said on Tuesday that Md Kamal, son of Md. Kawsar, fell into the drain while playing with his friend, Rakib at around 4 pm. The boy is missing till now.

Chattogram Fire Service and Civil Defense deputy assistant director Farid Uddin Chowdhury said, “Our rescue operation is being hampered due to dirt in the drain. We continue our best to rescue the child.”
