Traffic police among 2 killed in Ctg bus-auto-train collision

Two people, including a traffic policeman, were killed in a three-way collision between a bus, an autorickshaw and a Demu train at Khulshi in Chattogram. Seven people were injured in the incident.
The accident took place at the Jhautala rail crossing area under Khulshi police station at around 11 am on Saturday.
The slain policeman was identified as Monir Hossain, a police constable and the other one was identified as Syed Bahauddin Ahmed.
Chattogram Railway Police Station OC Sarwar Alam said a Demu train was going from Sholoshohor to Chattogram station. At that time, the gates on both sides of the rail crossing at Zakir Hossain Road were blocked. However, an autorickshaw tried to cross the line in the opposite direction. Behind it, a bus also got on the line. At that time, the train came and hit the bus and autorickshaw. The bus driver Syed Bahauddin was killed on the spot.
The OC further said that the doctor declared Monir Hossain dead after he was rushed to Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH). Six injured have been treated there.
