Changes to be done in NU curriculum: Education Minister

Informing that changes will be done in the curriculum of the National University (NU), Education Minister Dr. Dipu Moni said work-oriented education of students will be provided through NU to reduce educated unemployment in the country.

“The government is working to improve the quality of education in the colleges affiliated to the NU, achieve demographic dividends and prepare students to meet the challenges of the Fourth Industrial Revolution,” she made the remarks while speaking to media after a discussion meeting with NU teachers at Rangpur Police Lines School and College on Saturday.

“We want a student to enter the career by becoming more efficient. The government is working towards that goal,” the Education Minister said. 

There are talks to enroll the private colleges that have honors, masters into MPO. However, there is a ban on introducing honors, masters in new private colleges, she mentioned.

Dr. Dipu Moni said the issue of setting up a science and technology university in Rangpur is being considered seriously.
