Rohingya trawler capsize: 7 more bodies recovered

Law enforcers on Tuesday recovered the bodies of another 7 Rohingyas – a man and 6 children – who went missing after a Rohingya-laden trawler capsized in the Bay of Bengal while fleeing from Bhasan Char in Noakhali. With this, 11 bodies have been recovered so far.
“The bodies had been mutilated. Attempts will be made to identify the bodies,” said Bhasan Char police OC Md. Rafiqul Islam.
Noakhali SP Md. Shahidul Islam said 15 people have been rescued alive and 11 bodies have been recovered over the incident of Rohingya trawler capsize. Since the accident, law enforcement ships have been conducting rescue operations in the Bay of Bengal.
30-40 Rohingyas tried to escape from Bhasan Char by a trawler on Friday night. Later, the trawler capsized in the Bay of Bengal near Chattogram, about 15-20 km east of Bhasan Char.
