2 killed in Madaripur bus-micro collision

Two youths were reportedly killed in a collision between a passenger bus and a microbus at Shibchar in Madaripur. Seven more were injured at the time.
The accident took place at Kutubpur area on Dhaka-Khulna highway on Wednesday night.
One of the deceased has been identified as Rabiul Islam, the son of Secundar Sardar of North Mihipasha village of Agailjhara upazila.
Shibchar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Abul Kalam Azad said the microbus was going to Barisal from Kanthalbari Ghat. The passenger bus collided head-on with a microbus when it crossed the Padma Bridge Express Service Area-3 around 10 pm.
Nine passengers of the microbus were seriously injured. They were rescued and taken to the Royal Hospital in Pancchar. Two died while undergoing treatment.
Meanwhile, five of them were shifted to Faridpur Medical College Hospital due to critical condition, said the police official.
