Bangladesh today reported zero deaths from coronavirus or Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, remaining the death toll from the virus to 29,312.  

Besides, 144 new COVID cases were reported in the preceding 24 hours, bringing the tally of infections to 20,08,644.

This was informed in a COVID-related daily count press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Saturday.

A total of 3,357 samples were tested across the country during this period. The daily positivity rate is 4.29 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 13.69 percent.

The report states that 456 people have recovered from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, raising the total number of recovery patients to 19,50,843.

From the beginning of the pandemic, 97.10 percent of Covid-19 patients have recovered from coronavirus while 1.46 percent died, the DGHS statistics showed.

Bangladesh reported the first Covid-19 cases on March 8, 2020, and the first deaths from the pandemic on March 18 of that year.
