Bangladesh today reported two more deaths from coronavirus or Covid-19 in the last 24 hours while 218 fresh cases were reported during the period.
With this, the total number of Covid-19 patients stands at 20,08,500 and the death tolls rose to 29,312, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Friday.
A total of 4,585 samples were tested across the country during this period. The daily positivity rate is 4.75 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 13.69 percent.
The report states that 350 people have recovered from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, raising the total number of recovery patients to 19,50,387.
From the beginning of the pandemic, 97.10 percent of Covid-19 patients have recovered from coronavirus while 1.46 percent died, the DGHS statistics showed.
Bangladesh reported the first Covid-19 cases on March 8, 2020, and the first deaths from the pandemic on March 18 of that year.
