Bangladesh today reported only one death from coronavirus or Covid-19 in the last 24 hours while 239 fresh cases were reported during the same time.
With this, the total number of Covid-19 patients stands at 2,007,870 and the death tolls rose to 29,308, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Tuesday.
A total of 5,504 samples were tested across the country during this period. The daily positivity rate is 4.34 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 13.70 percent.
The report states that 489 people have recovered from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, raising the total number of recoveries to 19,49,154.
From the beginning of the pandemic, 97.06 percent of Covid-19 patients have recovered from coronavirus while 1.46 percent died, the DGHS statistics showed.
Bangladesh reported the first Covid-19 cases on March 8, 2020, and the first deaths from the pandemic on March 18 of that year.
