Global Covid-19 deaths, cases fall

In the last 24 hours, 556,051 people have been diagnosed with coronavirus worldwide while 780 people died from the pandemic.

Earlier on sunday, 638,967 COVID- 19 patients were detected while 1,274 deaths related to the disease were reported worldwide.

As of Monday morning (08-08-2022), a total of 589,384,447 people have been diagnosed with coronavirus worldwide, as the death toll rises to 6,436,492 while 560,712,450 patients have recovered, according to Worldometers data. 

Japan has topped the daily death toll and infected list. In the last 24 hours, 161 people have died and 214,879 people have been infected with coronavirus in the country. The country reported a total of 33,509 deaths and 14,049,978 cases.

According to the data of Worldometer, Brazil has seen the second-highest death toll of 85 in the last 24 hours, raising the death toll to 328,306. The total number of cases has exceeded 6,854,180 with 14,448 new infections. 

In the last 24 hours, 105,507 people have been infected with corona in South Korea and 27 people have died. Since the beginning of the corona epidemic, the  country reported 20,489,128 coronavirus cases and 25,263     deaths. 

The United States has reported 12,546 new coronavirus cases and 12 deaths during the last 24 hours. So far the country reported 1,058,738 deaths and 93,910,150 cases. 

The coronavirus, which was first reported in China in 2019, affects 228 countries and territories worldwide.
