Global COVID claims 1274 lives in a day

In the last 24 hours, 638,967 people have been diagnosed with coronavirus worldwide while 1,274 people died from the pandemic.

Earlier on Saturday, 797,003 COVID- 19 patients were detected while 1,944 deaths related to the disease were reported worldwide.

As of Sunday morning (07-08-2022), a total of 589,090,315 people have been diagnosed with coronavirus worldwide, as the death toll rises to 6,435,912 while 560,164,327 patients have recovered, according to Worldometers data. 

Brazil has topped the daily death toll list. In the last 24 hours, 210 people have died and 16,703 people have been infected with coronavirus in the country. The country reported a total of 680,012 deaths and 34,011,173 cases.

According to the data of Worldometer, Japan has recorded the highest number of corona infections in the world during the past 24 hours. During this period, 236,809 people were newly infected with corona in the country and 189 people died. With the latest, a total of, 13,835,099 people have been infected and 33,348 people have died in this country since the beginning of the corona epidemic.

The United States has reported 13,529 new coronavirus cases and 35 deaths during the last 24 hours. So far the country reported 1,058,726 deaths and 93,897,604 cases. 

In the last 24 hours, 34,997 people have been infected with corona in Italy and 158 people have died. Since the beginning of the corona epidemic, the European country reported 21,286,771 coronavirus cases and 173,062 deaths. 

The coronavirus, which was first reported in China in 2019, affects 228 countries and territories worldwide.
