Bangladesh today reported five more deaths from coronavirus or Covid-19, bringing the tally of fatalities from the pandemic to 29,271.
Besides, 548 new virus cases were confirmed in the last 24 hours, with this, the overall caseload stood at 20,02,323.
It was said in a press release sent from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) today, Monday (July 25).
The release stated that a total of 6,987 samples were tested across the country in the last 24 hours.
The recovery count rose to 19,37,240 after another 1,277 patients were discharged from the dedicated hospitals during the past one day.
The current positivity rate is 7.84 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 13.75 percent.
The latest figures put the recovery rate at 96.67 percent and the mortality rate at 1.46 percent.
Bangladesh reported the first Covid-19 cases on March 8, 2020, and the first death from the virus on March 18, 2020.
