4 die, 1728 more COVID cases counted in a day

Four more people died of coronavirus in the last 24 hours in the country, taking the death tally to 29,185. At the same time, 1,728 more people were infected with the virus, bringing the caseload to 19,84,700.

It was said in a press release sent from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Wednesday. 

A total of 10,233 samples were tested across the country in the span of 24 hours. 

The current positivity rate is 16.89 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 13.76 percent.

The recovery count rose to 19,09,799 after another 526 patients were discharged from the dedicated hospitals during the past one day.  

The recovery rate at 96.23 percent while the total death rate stands at 1.47 percent.

Bangladesh reported the first Covid-19 cases on March 8, 2020, and the first death from the virus on March 18, 2020.
