Covid-19 claims 2 more lives, positivity rate 15.66pc

Bangladesh on Saturday reported two more Covid-19 deaths and 1,680 new cases in the past 24 hours.

With this, the death toll from the disease has risen to 29,140 people while the caseload stood at 19,64,137 so far.

"Bangladesh reported a 15.66 percent COVID-19 positivity rate, the highest after 134 days as 10,728 samples were tested in the last 24 hours," the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said in a regular bulletin on Sunday.

Bangladesh logged 16.50 percent COVID-19 positivity rate on February 12. 

The recovery count rose to 19,06,668 after another 169 patients were discharged from the dedicated hospitals during the past one day.

From the beginning of the pandemic, 97.10 percent Covid-19 patients recovered among the infected people while 1.48 percent died, the DGHS statistics showed.
