COVID cases rising, 71 counted; Detection rate 1.14pc

Bangladesh today reported 71 Covid-19 or coronavirus positive cases in the last 24 hours while it logged no deaths from the virus during the period.

“Bangladesh reported 1.14 percent Covid-19 positive cases as 6,225 samples were tested in the last 24 hours,” Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) sources said on Saturday.

The official tally showed that the virus killed 29,131 people and infected 19,56,006 so far, the statement added.

The recovery count rose to 19,05,175 after another 110 patients were discharged from the dedicated hospitals during the past one day.

From the beginning of the pandemic, 97.50 percent of Covid-19 patients recovered among the infected people while 1.49 percent died, the DGHS statistics showed.
