1500 COVID-19 deaths in a day

In the last 24 hours, 542,669 people have been diagnosed with coronavirus around the world while 1,510 died from the pandemic. The US has registered the highest number of deaths from the pandemic during the period.
Earlier on Tuesday, 356,055 COVID-19 patients were detected while 809 deaths related to the disease were reported worldwide.
As of Wednesday morning (08-06-2022), a total of 536,575,267 people have been diagnosed with coronavirus worldwide, as the death toll rises to 6,323,378 while 507,630,965 patients have recovered, according to Worldometers data.
The US has registered 339 deaths and 81,332 new cases in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths to 1,034,284 and counting the overall caseload to 86,782,404 in the country due to the pandemic so far.
Brazil has seen the second-highest death toll of 294 in the last 24 hours, raising the death toll to 667,400. The total number of cases has exceeded 31,266,163 with 71,045 new infections.
The UK has registered the third-highest death toll of 132 during the time. With this, the tally of fatalities from the pandemic has risen to 178,998 in the country. Besides, the tally of infections has surged to 22,349,183 with 10,179 new cases.
In Taiwan, 124 more people have died from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours increasing the death toll from the pandemic to 3,214. Besides, the tally of infections has surged to 2,540,871 as 83,027 new cases were confirmed during the period.
France has reported 11,627 new coronavirus cases, taking the overall caseload to 29,659,417. The death toll due to COVID-19 climbed to 148,591 with 74 people succumbing to the disease in a span of 24 hours.
The coronavirus, which was first reported in China in 2019, is affecting 228 countries and territories around the world.
