Daily COVID count: 34 new cases, detection rate 0.63pc

Bangladesh today reported 34 new COVID-19 cases while no deaths were logged in the last 24 hours till 8 am today. With this, the detection rate of the deadly virus stands at 0.63 percent.
“The total number of cases rose to 19,53,541,” said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Wednesday.
The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country remains at 29,131 and the death rate is 1.49 percent, said the release.
Bangladesh reported 0.63 percent of Covid-19 positive cases as 5,380 samples were tested in the last 24 hours while the total positive cases stand at 13.83.
The recovery count rose to 19,03,117 after another 357 patients were discharged from the dedicated hospitals during the past one day.
From the beginning of the pandemic, 97.40 percent of Covid-19 patients recovered among the infected people while 1.49 percent died, the DGHS statistics showed.
