Daily highest death toll in US, caseload in Germany

In the last 24 hours, 599,009 people have been diagnosed with coronavirus around the world while 1,982 died from the pandemic. The UK has registered the highest number of deaths from the pandemic during the period.
Earlier on Thursday, 589,455 COVID-19 patients were detected while 1,675 deaths related to the disease were reported worldwide.
As of Friday morning (13-05-2022), a total of 519,779,455 people have been diagnosed with coronavirus worldwide, as the death toll rises to 6,284,636 while 474,544,417 patients have recovered, according to Worldometers data.
The UK has registered 284 deaths and 14,458 new cases in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths to 176,708 and counting the overall caseload to 22,159,615 in the country due to the pandemic so far.
The US has seen the second-highest death toll of 222 in the last 24 hours, raising the death toll to 1,026,109. The total number of cases has exceeded 84,066,379 with 85,830 new infections.
Germany has registered the third-highest death toll of 179 during the time. With this, the tally of fatalities from the pandemic has risen to 137,628 in the country. Besides, the tally of infections has surged to 25,665,910 with 82,652 new cases.
In Canada, 177 more people have died from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours increasing the death toll from the pandemic to 40,161. Besides, the tally of infections has surged to 3,816,490 as 9,865 new cases were confirmed during the period.
Brazil has reported 21,344 new coronavirus cases, taking the overall caseload to 30,639,130. The death toll due to COVID-19 climbed to 664,700 with 136 people succumbing to the disease in a span of 24 hours.
The coronavirus, which was first reported in China in 2019, is affecting 225 countries and territories around the world.
