Daily COVID count: 19 cases logged in a day, no deaths

Bangladesh reported zero Covid-19 death for the eight straight days as no new deaths were reported in the last 24 hours while it recorded only 19 coronavirus positive cases during the period.
“Bangladesh reported 0.49 percent of Covid-19 positive cases as 4,622 samples were tested in the last 24 hours,” Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) sources said on Wednesday.
The total positivity rate stands at 13.96 percent, said the press release.
The official tally showed that the virus killed 29,127 people and infected 19,52,644 so far, the statement added.
The recovery count rose to 18,94,820 after another 363 patients were discharged from the dedicated hospitals during the past one day.
From the beginning of the pandemic, 97.04 percent of Covid-19 patients recovered among the infected people while 1.49 percent died, the DGHS statistics showed.
The country recorded zero coronavirus death for the first time on November 20, 2021, since the pandemic began on March 8, 2020.
