MMCH COVID-19 unit logs 5 more deaths

Five more people have died while undergoing treatment at the COVID-19 unit in Mymensingh Medical College Hospital (MMCH) in the last 24 hours till Saturday morning. One of the deceased had tested positive for coronavirus while the remaining had the virus symptoms. 

Dr Mohiuddin Khan Moon, the focal person of the hospital's Covid unit, has confirmed the information this morning (January 29, 2022). Two of the deceased were from the Mymensingh while one each from Jamalpur, Kishoreganj, and Tangail districts. 

He said a total of 86 patients are now undergoing treatment at the Corona unit. Six of them are in the ICU. Some 10 people have been admitted in the last 24 hours while five others returned home after recovery.  

Meanwhile, Mymensingh District Civil Surgeon Dr Mohammad Nazrul Islam said, "In the last 24 hours, 114 COVID patients have been diagnosed after testing 377 samples in the Mymensingh district."
