RMCH counts 2 fatalities, COVID detection rate 74.84pc

Two more people died at the COVID unit of Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) in the last 24 hours, among these, one died of Covid-19 and the other died with COVID symptoms.
RMCH Director Brigadier General Shamim Yazdani told the media that the casualties were reported from Thursday at 9 am to Friday at 9 am.
RMCH Director said the deceased were aged from 11 to 30 and the residents of Kushtia and Pabna.
Brigadier General Shamim Yazdani further said the bodies of two who died in RMCH hospital in the last 24 hours due to Covid-19 and symptoms have been advised to be buried as per the hygiene rules.
According to RMCH lab sources in the last 24 hours, 461 samples were tested at two PCR labs on Thursday, among these, 345 tested positive for the Covid-19 with a detection rate of 74.84 percent - which was 60.39 percent yesterday.
On the other hand, 49 patients were hospitalized in the 104-bed COVID unit of RMCH till 9 am on Friday. Of these, 28 patients were hospitalized with Covid-19 and 18 were admitted with symptoms.
Besides, eight new patients were hospitalized in the last 24 hours and 10 people left the hospital after recovery.
