3 Omicron subtypes detected in capital

At least three subtypes of Omicron variant have been detected in the capital. Studies have shown that these types of infections are spreading.

This information has been found in the research of ICDRB. According to the research of the institute, the number of infections is increasing in Dhaka city.

Experts say there is no alternative to follow health guidelines rules to prevent African, Euro-American and Asia-Pacific variants of coronavirus. 

The ICDRB says that as of January 20, 63 people have definitely been infected with Omicron. Of these, 52 are from Dhaka city, 6 from Chattogram, and 3 from Jashore.

In the first two weeks of January, some 1,038 samples were tested in ICDDRB's lab. Of these, 28 percent came as positive for corona. Of these, 69 percent were infected with Omicron variant.
