Bangladesh reports 892 COVID cases in 24hrs, 3 deaths

Three more died of Covid-19 in the preceding 24 hours, taking the total deaths toll to 28,090. At the same time, 892 new COVID cases were detected, rising the overall caseload to 15,88,807.
Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said in its routine daily statement today.
The current positivity rate is 4.20 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 13.75 percent.
A total of 21,251 samples were tested at 849 centers across the country in the previous 24 hours.
The recovery count rose to 15,50,168 after another 212 patients were discharged from the hospitals during the past 24 hours.
From the beginning of the pandemic, 97.59 percent Covid-19 patients recovered among the infected people while 1.77 percent died, the DGHS statistics showed.
Bangladesh first reported Covid-19 cases on March 8, 2020, and the first death from the deadly virus on March 18, ten days later.
