Bangladesh counts another 4 deaths, 674 new COVID cases

Four more people died of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, climbing the total deaths toll to 28,081. The overall caseload has stood at 15,87,140 as 674 fresh cases were reported during the period.

Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said in its routine daily statement today.

The current positivity rate is 3.37 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 13.78 percent.

A total of 19,980 samples were tested at 849 centers across the country in the previous 24 hours.

The recovery count rose to 15,49,771 after another 214 patients were discharged from the hospitals during the past 24 hours.

From the beginning of the pandemic, 97.65 percent Covid-19 patients recovered among the infected people while 1.77 percent died, the DGHS statistics showed.

Bangladesh first reported Covid-19 cases on March 8, 2020, and the first death from the deadly virus on March 18, ten days later.
