Another one dies of Covid-19, 495 cases logged in a day

One more coronavirus death has been reported in the next 24 hours, raising the death toll from the pandemic to 28,063 in the country. 

Besides, the overall caseload has stood at 15,84,518 with 495 fresh cases, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said in its routine daily statement on Wednesday. 

Earlier on Tuesday, DGHS reported one coronavirus death and 397 fresh cases. 

“The country reported 2.37 percent Covid-19 positive cases as 20,194 samples were tested in the past 24 hours,” it said. 

In the past 24 hours, the combined figure of coronavirus in Dhaka city and Upazilas of the district is 425  while one Covid-19 death was reported during the period. 

The recovery count rose to 15,48,416 after another 372 patients were discharged from the hospitals during the past day.

From the beginning of the pandemic, 97.72 percent Covid-19 patients recovered among the infected people while 1.77 percent died, the DGHS statistics showed.
