Bangladesh again reports one COVID death, 275 infected

Another one died of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, raising the death toll from the pandemic to 28,056. The virus cases tally rose to 15,82,985 as 275 fresh cases were reported during the period, said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) in its routine daily statement today. 

The current positivity rate is 2.01 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 13.92 percent.

A total of 16,669 samples were tested at 849 centers across the country in the previous 24 hours.

The recovery count rose to 15,47,180 after another 224 patients were discharged from the hospitals during the past 24 hours.

From the beginning of the pandemic, 97.74 percent of Covid-19 patients recovered among the infected people while 1.77 percent died, the DGHS statistics showed.

Bangladesh first reported Covid-19 cases on March 8, 2020, and the first death from the deadly virus on March 18, ten days later.
